- Be Kind to Your Own Animals

- Make sure that your dog and cat wear collars with I.D. tags. (Cats need safety collars)
- Don’t let your dog run loose—always keep your dog on a leash outside your yard!
(IT’S THE LAW) - Animals need houses just like people—make sure that the house fits the animal!
- A covered patio or a tree is not considered a dog house.
- Make sure that you spend time with your animal every day—they need love too!
- Don’t hit your animal—use patience and kindness in training them. I bet that you make mistakes too.
- Remember that your pet needs to see a Veterinarian—not only when it gets sick, but to keep your pet healthy (SHOTS).
- Please don’t let your dog or cat have babies. There are too many animals and not enough homes. Millions of animals die each year in animal shelters because of the lack of space. Even if you find good homes—you are taking homes away from the animals at animal shelters.
- A good guard dog comes from good training and a loving home—never from a home that neglects or abuses them.
If you need help or you have a question about your animal call your local shelter or veterinarian.
Remember that if you love your pet, your pet will love you back—always be responsible and treat your pet with respect. Just imagine if you were them!
