Saturday February 11, 2012 -- Valentine's Day Adoption Event here at our shelter from 10 am - 3 pm.  The first 14 adoptions are only $14 each.  A $10 dog license fee may apply.  Please contact the shelter for more information.

Saturday February 19, 2012 -- Adoption Event at Petco in Visalia from 10 am - 3 pm.  We will have many shelter and foster animals available for adoption.  Come out and share in the fun.

Satuday March 17, 2012 -- St. Patrick's Adoption Event here at our shelter from 10 am - 3 pm.

The Tulare County Animal Shelter focuses on good adoptions. We take every effort to ensure the dog or cat and it's new family are a good match. As our mission statement indicates: "We are committed to reducing animal overpopulation by promoting adoptions, advocating for the welfare of animals by operating spay/neuter and humane education programs, encouraging responsible pet ownership and demonstrating respect for all living things." With this in mind, the shelter staff and volunteers advocate for good placement of our animals.

We have many wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption and in need of loving homes. Dogs and cats that come into the shelter already spayed or neutered are only $30 to adopt. Dogs that have not been spayed or neutered yet are $90 and cats are $70. This covers the cost of getting the animal spayed or neutered, a rabies vaccination and a microchip. A $10 license fee applies for dogs in the county.  All adoptions include a free wellness visit, a bag of Science Diet dog or cat food, and a leash or a cat carrier.

If you are a Tulare County employee and show your Tulare County ID or paycheck stub you can take $20 off the regular adoption fees listed above.
